Tae Harris says “Go Dawgs!” and commits to UGA

Tae Harris didn’t need a lot of convincing, and the No. 27 jersey number seems destined to end up in Athens one way or another.

Harris – who got an offer heading into his junior year at Cedartown High School – has made a commitment early to head to play for the University of Georgia after he got an offer from the Bulldogs at the beginning of the month.

The speedy back who will be dominating the backfield for Cedartown (going into the season ranked second in Class 4A after their triumphant run to the state championship game) received other offers throughout the past months, but the June 1 offer from UGA was the one he took up before any others could scoop up his talents when he graduates in 2025.

He’ll be the third back to head to Georgia in the past decade. Cleveland Brown Nick Chubb played for the Bulldogs prior to his pro career, and CJ Washington got a brief opportunity after he graduated in 2021 to play for Georgia early, but injuries ended his career before it had the opportunity to play quality downs for the defense.

All three of Georgia’s commits have worn the No. 27 at Cedartown during their careers.

Harris posted the following on Twitter:

Harris had a “Go Dawgs!” as his only words to add to PolkSportsWire this evening.

Along with the early offer, Harris took a trip to UGA last week to visit the campus and see if he will sync up with the coaching staff in Athens.
