Just wandering through the field at Carlton Farms in Rockmart right next door to Ty Floyd’s alma mater, you wouldn’t be able to tell what the maze looks like. But take an aerial view, and that pose is going to look familiar to Yellow Jacket (and newly-minted Cincinnati Reds) fans locally.
This year’s Corn Maze includes a layout that has Ty Floyd winding up for a pitch surrounded by his name, initials for RHS and LSU, and the Cincinnati Reds logo in honor of the recently-drafted pitcher who calls his hometown Rockmart, Georgia.
They also included 2023 in the top left corner as well leading into and out of portions of the maze.
And the exact center? Well of course it is his #9 jersey worn during his historic pitching performance in the College World Series back in June.
Floyd was picked up in the first round by the Reds and sent off to developmental league play in Arizona.
Carlton Farms will be hosting fans of Fall and Ty Floyd alike who want to wander through the maze or enjoy other fun this month on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (including today,) through Sunday, October 29. There’s even a pumpkin patch, hay rides, a corn cannon and much more for kids. Admission is $15 for those 13-64, $12 for 3 to 12 years old, free for children under 3, and a $2 discount for seniors, military and first responders. It is worth noting the corn cannon is an extra fee.
