Five up, five down.

The Rockmart Lady Jackets remain undefeated through the early part of their spring season and have defeated Cartersville, Adairsville, Coosa, rival Cedartown and Trion on the courts in recent weeks.

Rockmart’s girls went 3-2 as a team to start the season against Cartersville, with Emma Scott leading the way and thus far is undefeated individually in her top spot for the Lady Jackets. She has given up only seven points across five matches through the opening weeks of the season.

In doubles play, Emma Barber and Madi Sanders remain dominant, just knocking down Trion in their latest matchup in a 6-0, 6-0 run against Trion’s Lexi Pearson and Payton Weaver. Barber and Sanders also topped Cartersville’s Lily Clark and Haylee Harris, Adairsville’s Ella Baker and Stella Rood, the Cedartown doubles team of Lusero Escutia and Chloe Ramey (sp? Our handwritten info was a bit scratchy… -KM), and Coosa’s Haley Hopper and Carleigh Reece. The pair are thus far also undefeated on the year.

The Lady Jackets are back on the court today against Pepperell at the Rome Tennis Center after going 5-0 through the opening matches of the season. They’ve got Woodland next Monday, and Bremen next Tuesday in away and home matchups, and open the month of March in region play on the road against Murray County on March 4, and at Haralson County on March 6.
