The Rockmart Lady Jackets are on a roll!
A Tuesday game against the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Lady Warriors kept the win streak alive – now up to 8-1 on the season so far – after some real walk-off heroics lifted Rockmart into the final lead they needed.
Mary Kate Dunn smacked the homer against a tough LFO squad to finish the Lady Warriors off 8-7 on the night. Rockmart went into an extra inning with the region foe to gain the win, putting up four runs in the 8th to overtake LFO on their home turf.
The Lady Jackets remain at 4-0 in region play after the Tuesday win. They face a 10-4 Lady Phoenix squad on Thursday as they host Sonoraville in another region matchup.
Rockmart knocked off Carrollton, Coahulla Creek and North Murray in matchups last week.
The win on Tuesday stretched their win streak to six in a row.
Following the Labor Day break, Rockmart will head to North Cobb Christian on Sept. 4, host Ringgold on Sept. 5 and then take on Cedartown on the road on Saturday, Sept. 7.
