The Rockmart Lady Yellow Jackets had the bases loaded when senior Emilee Register did exactly what her team needed in the moment: she came up big.

Register knocked a groundball single past the infield and the rest of the squad watched as her teammate trotted home and Register tagged first to make the ending official at 6-5 for Rockmart over Ringgold to determine who would end up in a third seed for the playoffs, and who was in fourth.

Rockmart’s win put them at 20-7 overall heading into the first round of the playoffs against Lumpkin County on the road on Tuesday, October 20 coming up. The Lady Jackets face a Lady Indians team with a 18-8 record overall heading into the best-of-three games playoff round.

If the Lady Jackets make it to Round 2, they’ll face the winner of the Stephens County-Sandy Creek first round games.
