Congratulations go out to the Rockmart Lady Jackets cross country team, who took a first-place finish in Region 6-AAA earlier in the week to advance to the state meet at the top of the pack.

The Lady Jackets beat out runners from Adairsville, Coahulla Creek, LaFayette, Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe, Murray County, North Murray, Ringgold, and Sonoraville to advance to the state meet.

Rockmart’s boys finished fifth in the region races held on Tuesday.

The state meet is being held on on November 6 and 7 at Carrollton High School.
