Cedartown’s own Nick Chubb is going to be off the gridiron for the foreseeable future after a horrendous knee injury brought him down in a first and goal play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football on September 18, 2023.
Chubb was carted off the field following the play as his knee took a severe hit from Steelers Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Prior to his early exit from the game, Chubb was sitting at 10 carries for 64 yards.
The knee injury that Chubb sustained ended his season for the Browns.
“He’s a great football player as we know, but he’s an even better person, so we will support him every step along the way,” Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski said postgame after the Browns fell to the Steelers 26-22.
Chubb injured the same knee during a 2015 showdown with Tennessee while playing for Georgia. He recovered and ultimately ended up two seasons later in a National Title game.
