FOOTBALL: CEDARTOWN WINS! Bulldogs head to semifinals for first time in 20 years

This time in 2001, the Cedartown Bulldogs were celebrating a quarterfinal win and heading to the Georgia Dome to play in the semifinals of the state playoffs.

Now 20 years later, the Bulldogs are celebrating a 39-25 win over the Perry Panthers and are heading to Columbus next Friday night to play in the semifinals.

The Bulldogs added two scores in the fourth quarter and Reece Tanner picked up a game-winning interception in the endzone for the Bulldogs to finish off the Panthers on their home turf.

Now at 11-1 on the season, the Bulldogs will move onto play against Carver-Columbus after their close win over Dougherty in a quarterfinal game on their home turf.

Check back for more details about the game and highlights from last week and this week on Sunday.
