Cedartown headed into Dalton with the promise of a Dog and Cat fight, and this time the good guys came away smiling and with the win.
A 35-27 win over the Catamounts put the Bulldogs at 3-2 on the year after they got an unexpected gift from the football gods with a forfeit win added to the record over Callaway. Otherwise the Bulldogs would be 2-3 at the moment.
The Dawgs were given the big boost by Isaiah Johnson who put up a 100+ yard performance and two touchdowns on the night. Jaquaveon Price grabbed a score and so did Juelz Davis and Demarcus Gardner grabbed a touchdown pass from Drew Ledbetter in the campaign against the Catamounts on Friday night.
Drew Ledbetter put up a 4 for 7 performance for 57 yards and a touchdown. He also gave up a pick on the night. Taji Neal with a carry on the night also gave up a fumble against the Cats as well.
The performance against the Cats was exactly what the Bulldogs needed heading into what is going to be a big first contest in Region 7-4A.
Cedartown heads into Friday night with a showdown against Central Carroll, who are coming off a bye week with a road trip to face the Lions. Sitting at 5-0 on the year, they last played Northgate on Sept. 15 and snuck in a 21-17 victory.
The Lions have put up double digits in every victory in their thus-far undefeated season, including a victory over Bowdon by three touchdowns, a 42-7 victory over Hampton, and big victories over McIntosh and Redan on their record. Three of their four opponents so far have winning records.
