The Bulldogs are poised to get back on track this week, so long as a trip to play at Sequoyah goes right for Cedartown.
Their 2023 campaign has started off with a mixed bag: a 1-1 record, but a win over rival Rockmart in a 13-12 squeaker kind of makes up for the 27-10 loss to Callaway on the road.
Drew Ledbetter has shown he has the ability to score in the air and on the ground, and despite a Week 1 where Tae Harris was getting stuffed by Rockmart’s defense, he’s starting to pick up more yards and has almost cracked the 100 mark (right at 94 yards with stats available as of this posting.)
This week’s game is an opportunity for the Bulldogs to bounce back on the road, and against a team they beat with a solid performance in their opening meeting in 2022.
Sequoyah is sitting at 0-2 at the moment. They suffered a Week 1 double digit loss to Lambert in a 42-28 shootout then weren’t able to put up more than six against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee in a 33-point defeat on the road.
The last six points came in the fourth quarter.
Cedartown’s opportunities will be aplenty if they can regain their composure through Week 3 before a showdown at home with Calhoun.
