The Rockmart Lady Jackets competition cheer squads got to take a trip down the road to Macon this weekend to contend for a state title. They didn’t come home with gold, but did make a mark for the season and came home with a sixth-place finish.

The scoring sheets were posted online over the weekend at the GHSA website, and the Lady Jackets put up a final score of 65 and took the 15th spot out of the 16 teams in the competition on Friday. The Lady Jackets faced Sonoraville, Adairsville, Ringgold and LaFayette after taking a fourth-place spot in the region in recent weeks.

Dawson County took the title this year in Class AAA competition in Macon. Sonoraville and Adairsville both finished in the Top 10 in the region this year.
