The Rockmart Lady Jackets have reason to celebrate: they are heading to Macon next weekend to take part in the state championship competition after they made it in thanks to placing in region over the weekend.

They took fourth place in region competition on Saturday, November 12 against other AAA schools in the area.

Rockmart took a region title earlier in the year in competition cheer after the season was pushed back in 2020 to the winter amid COVID-19 increases.

Lady Jackets will hit the floor on Friday afternoon, November 19 with a chance to get into the finals on Saturday, November 20.

South Forsyth, Carrollton, McIntosh, West Laurens, Mary Persons, Dodge County, Mt. Paran, Gordon Lee and Mill Creek are the defending state champions from 2020.
