Rockmart is back on the road this evening with an upcoming game at Vidalia, and are hoping to improve their record in a weekend tournament after early season wins over Trion and a split with Pepperell.
The Jackets opened their year going 4-0 over Trion at home earlier this month on February 9, then split with Pepperell in a pair of games on Feb. 15 and Feb. 17 to land at their 2-1 record.
Rockmart win the first game at home 5-1, then took a loss 4-3 on the road to the Dragons.
A 3-2 Vidalia hosts the Jackets starting at 5 p.m.
They’re back in play this weekend in a double-header in tournament play at Baseball at the Beach this weekend facing an (as of this posting 0-5) Milton Eagles and then a 4-2 Locust Grove Wildcats in an early afternoon follow-up.
Rockmart heads to Cedartown next week after returning home to Polk County on March 1, then host Jeff Davis on Friday before hosting Cedartown next Saturday, March 4 in a follow-up rivalry showdown.
Region play gets underway on March 7 at home hosting Gordon Central in the first of a three-game series. The other pair will be held at Gordon Central on March 9.
