Youth converged on the Bert Wood Youth and Athletic Complex on Saturday morning to kickoff a holiday weekend tournament of recreation all stars.
The Cartersville Purple are headed into the next round and will face the winner of the Dalton-Cartersville Gold game (pics above) that we’ve still got to get some results for from the first day of play (check back on Sunday.)
Cedartown and Rockmart’s teams were all playing in the first round, with the Jackets getting out into the second with a 15-11 win over Bartow Blue this morning. They fell to Carterville Purple in the second round 13-3.
One of two Cedartown squads fell to Cartersville Purple 16-12 in Round 1.
Cartersville Gold defeated the second Cedartown team 16-7 in Round 1 as well.
Bartow Green fell to Dalton 11-5 in Round 1.
Play continued later this afternoon – check back for scores – and continues tomorrow in winners and losers bracket games. Play starts on Sunday at 2 p.m., and then continues with final round games on Monday morning, with a potential if-necessary game on Tuesday possible later in the evening.
