Anyone who thought the Rockmart Yellow Jackets were done dominating on the wrestling mats has only fooled themselves during this winter season.

Over the weekend, Rockmart remained on top of the mountain as they tool the State Duals Championship for the 2023-24 season.

Rockmart defeated Toombs County for this year’s Team Duals for Class AA. Banks County took third place and Cook took fourth.

It was Rockmart’s third state title in a row as several of the Jacket wrestlers notched pins in the Team Duals.

Garrett Pace at 138 pounds, Tripp Clay at 150, Luke Clay at 157, Nahzir Turner at 175, Tyler Malone at 190, Jake Garrett at 215, Eli Bowman at 106, Malachi Macedonio at 113, Major Chambers at 120, Hagen Sharp at 132 are among the Jackets who notched wins during the Duals this weekend.

Rockmart finished with a Team Duals score in the championship of 55.

The Jackets have two more area competitions coming this month before they get into Area Traditional, AA Sectionals and the AA State Tournament in February.
