The Rockmart Lady Jackets Volleyball team had a rough couple of weeks in the win and loss column, but there’s a whole month of September left before the Lady Jackets to get back into the running for the playoffs.
Sitting at 8-10-2 heading into home matches today, the Lady Jackets have been through wins over area foes like Temple, South Paulding, Cass and Darlington, but have racked up tourney losses to teams like Armuchee, Fannin, Chapel Hill and Sand Rock to force them under .500. The two ties to Sonoraville and Douglas County also make the September schedule a run that will leave them with their work cut out for them.
Chances to improve come at home this afternoon as the Lady Jackets take on Adairsville at 2-4 and Temple at 5-6.
They’ll get a break until after Labor Day when Rockmart hosts Excel Christian Academy, Westlake, and Pepperell on September 5. They have road trips against Gordon Lee and Northwest Whitfield on Sept. 7, and Villa Rica, East Paulding, Troup County and Heard County in Sept. 9 weekend play.
That’s just the opening of September before getting into region 7-AA play and additional area foes until another break near month’s end, and a four game stretch that includes Haralson and North Murray on October 3, and South Paulding and Cedartown on the road to end the regular season on Oct. 4.
