The Rockmart Lady Jackets continue to dominate on the tennis court early on in the season as their run in February yields positive results for the squad.
Rockmart finished off Thursday with a win over Woodland, putting the team at 3-1 on the year.
The Lady Jackets saw singles wins by Ava Shae Culver (6-2, 6-2), Ansley Lanier (6-1, 6-0), and Hadlee Caldwell (6-3, 6-2) to put them squarely on top of the Lady Wildcats, and finished them off 5-0 with doubles wins by a combo of Maddie Owens and Madi Sanders (6-0, 6-3) and Summer Waits and Emma Barber (6-3, 6-4).
Rockmart’s girls also finished off Coosa earlier in the week on February 20 in similar fashion with a 5-0 victory over the Lady Eagles. Culver, Lanier and Caldwell all headed up singles wins, with the combos of Owens and Sanders and Barber and Waits topping Coosa in doubles play.
Their match on Feb. 15 over Pepperell saw some mixing of the team around in singles and doubles play, but the results were much the same with a 5-0 win over the Lady Dragons.
Scores from a Feb. 16 outing against Rome weren’t immediately available.
Rockmart and Cedartown face off on Monday on the western side of the county.
