MacKayleigh Arrington

A Kansas teen with local connections has big dreams for herself.

MacKayleigh Arrington wants to be a neonatal surgeon and play softball for the University of Oklahoma. Her 4.0 GPA and honors programs are proving her aspirations for the surgeon part and a recent selection to represent team Kansas at the National All State Softball Championship Games in Viera, Florida is proving her Oklahoma dreams.

MacK started her journey in fastpitch softball at the age of 8. She has continued to play throughout the years to follow. She is a multi-role player who is sits behind the plate as catcher, and when not there can be found at first or third base.

Over the last three years, she has been selected by her opponents and opposing coaches to represent Team Kansas in the Missouri/Kansas All State Games that are held in Overland Park, Kansas.

She played in those same games and in August, got word that she had been selected to represent Team Kansas in the National All State Championships that are held in Florida in December.

This is the second year for the National All State Championships to be run. MacK will travel to Florida in December for the experience of a lifetime.  This will include a private practice session with members of the National USSSA Pride Fastpitch Softball team to include her favorite player of all time, Jocelyn Alo, former University of Oklahoma softball player.

She will then meet with her teammates from all over the nation and have formal practice.  That night she will be able to interact with all the players that have been nominated and get National recognition on stage at the softball field. Pool play will be on Friday and Saturday and bracket will start on Sunday.

MacK would like to thank all her family, friends, and coaches that have pushed her throughout the years to get her here. Also, a huge thank you to all the sponsors that have helped her get closer to Florida!

MacKayleigh is the daughter of Cameron Arrington and Lauren Harper of Kansas and great granddaughter of Steve and Janice Arrington along with Brian and Christy Arrington, and Niece to Michelle, Kaitlyn, and Trevor Arrington.

She has family locally in the Cedartown, Dallas, Hiram, and Rome area who wanted to make sure her accomplishments are recognized locally as well.
