The Rockmart Lady Yellow Jackets had more than just a win to celebrate on Tuesday evening when they faced the Lady Rebels from Haralson County.

They also got to celebrate one of their own.

Rockmart senior Analee Morris hit a milestone every basketball player hopes to achieve in their career as she racked up her 1,000th point for the Lady Jackets squad over the past four years.

Morris, who has already put up more than 100 points so far over seven outings, is one of the lead scoring and point guards for Rockmart. She put up 31 against the Lady Rebels in a 63-38 region win.

Morris is the daughter of Harlan and Dana Morris. She also played softball for the Lady Jackets over the fall season.

The Lady Jackets moved to 7-1 on the season, giving up a 30-point loss to Murray County in region play on December 15.

They’ll also be in tournament play like the boys team in Haralson County next week starting on December 27. They face Central Carroll in the opening round.
