The Rockmart Yellow Jackets football team are having to make a schedule change for the second time this season due to the referee shortage.

The school announced today that the home football game scheduled for October 27 has been moved up a night for October 26 against Fannin County.

Kickoff will now be at 7 p.m. to accommodate for the school night change.

The school posted the following on social media earlier:

Attention! Important Announcement! Our home football game scheduled for Friday, October 27th vs Fannin County has been moved to Thursday, October 26th and will begin at 7:00. This is due to a referee shortage and could not be helped. Because Senior night was scheduled for October 27th, it will now also be moved to October 26th and will begin at 5:45. If you have a senior member of the football team, cheer team or band, you will receive further instructions from our senior sponsors regarding senior night.

This is the second time Rockmart has been forced to change their football schedule this year. The Rockmart at Cedartown game to open the season was pushed up to Thursday night due to the referee shortage as well.

PolkSportsWire will be on the sidelines for the upcoming game.
