Anytime a athlete hits the record books, celebrations are in order. It’s no different for Emma Goodson, who in recent days hit a milestone and has kept it up to increase her tally on the stat sheets for the season.

Goodson, a senior with the Lady Jackets volleyball team, hit her 1,000th dig this season and got recognition for the major milestone in her career. Her current tally puts her at over 200 on the season, and 1,153 career digs in total (as of writing.)

Goodson, daughter of Lydia and Shannon Goodson, was honored last Thursday evening, August 22. The senior top digger on the team also plays soccer during the spring.

It was in the midst Rockmart’s homestand with Heard County, Paulding County and Cedartown. They went 2-1 on the night, and they sit at 14-8 overall for the season as of this posting.

A banner honoring her accomplishment was put up, teammates celebrated with her enjoying a cake, and the team took time out during a break between matches to note her accomplishment.
