The Rolling Thunder Triple Crown Series will wrap up today in Utica, New York and Miguel Jimenez Vergara is poised to take the top spot after he won at Cedartown on Thursday.

The July 6 top race finisher for the Men’s Open (and for the overall race) finished with a time of 10 minutes and 29 seconds even in the 20th Cedartown Wheelchair 5K Road Race on North College Street. The 23-year-old Jimenez Vergara also took the top spot at the Peachtree 10K Road Race for wheelchair racers on July 4. He finished that with a time of 21:44, and now sits with 200 points heading into the Boilermaker today far northward.

Rafael Botello Jimenez took second with a time of 11:08 in the Men’s Open, followed by Juan Ramon Valladares in third three seconds behind at 11:11.

Women’s open winner Yen Huang, 26, finished with a time of 12:36. Second played Hanna Babalola finished with a time of 14:13, and Ivonne Reyes Gomes finished third with a time 14:36.

Quad winners Martin Velasco, Krige Schabort and Fidel Aguilar traded places from their results in the Peachtree in Master’s division. Aguilar finished first at 11:11, followed closely behind Velasco at 11:13 and Schabort at 11:14.

Open Quad division winners included Santiago Sanz with a time of 13:54, Natan Molares Velajzquez at 17:19 and Norbert Holowat at 18:25.

Ulises Elijah took a time of 15:08 for the Grand Masters Men’s top spot, with Matt Davis finishing behind at 16:33 in the division.

First place winners in each division got $500. The second place got $300, and third got $200.
