A Cedartown High standout is set to head back to a Division I School in 2025, coming after he decided Athens wasn’t going to be his next home after all.

This time, rising senior Bulldog Tae Harris is going to trade red and black when he graduates for orange and purple as he announced his new commitment to the Clemson Tigers earlier today on social media.

Here’s what he had to say on X:

Harris has been visiting Death Valley along with other schools around the southeast after he decided to give up his commitment to the University of Georgia back in January. He’s gotten offers ranging from Auburn to Southern California over the past year and many schools in between hoping to get his talents on the gridiron ahead of what promises to be his best season yet on the field.

The Under Armor All-American and one of the top 100 prospects in the country is coming into his own heading into a senior season where eyes will be firmly upon him in a new 7-4A. Harris recently posted a low 4-second 40 yard dash and sits at 200 pounds heading into spring practice.

Harris in 2023 averaged more than 38 yards a carry while rushing and was second in receiving yards behind Demarcus Gardner, scoring 9 touchdowns – four in the air – off of 221 yards on the year. Defensively, Harris recorded 36 solo tackles and 8 assists during his junior season and a fumble recovery for an 80 yard return.

The South Carolina-based school has recruited from Cedartown in the past.

Kobe Pace was a Clemson Tiger for three years of his college career where during his tenure he put up 793 yards on 152 carries between the 2020 and 2022 seasons.

He transferred to the University of Virginia for the 2023 season and put up a 125 carries and 382 yards for the Cavaliers.
