Taidji Neal announced his commitment to Cumberland University on Feb. 25.

Another Cedartown Bulldog is headed off to play at the next level, and continue their education.

Cedartown’s Taidji Neal announced this past Sunday that he’s headed off to college with the chance to play for Cumberland University.

He announced his commitment on social media and posted the following statement in a screenshot with it:

Neal had some contributions on the Cedartown offense when called upon (150 all purpose yards is not nothing) but were he shined in his senior season was on defense.

He put up 34 solo tackles and grabbed 13 assists over 10 games played through the season. His junior year saw him put up a 39 solo tackle, 20 assist season over 15 games in a magical run to the title game, and even had opportunities to shine in his sophomore campaign with a 26 solo, 16 assist season.

Neal heads to a Cumberland Phoenix squad in need of his kind of talent after they went 5-5 on the year and had a defense who gave up 226 points and went 2-3 in conference play. Cumberland is a NAIA school out of Lebanon, Tennessee (east of Nashville.)
