Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and Cedartown is no stranger to the fun that is the cross between ping pong and tennis with its own club and first July 4th tournament held over the holiday earlier this week.
On Tuesday, the Cedartown Pickleball Club held their Luck of the Draw tournament for Independence Day, and a pair of local residents came away as the best of the bunch for the inaugural event.
Shannon Bentley and Darrell Wright Jr., both of Cedartown, took the top spot in the tournament that included around 20 participants from around the area.
Bentley is a CHS grad and former Tennis player. Wright is a Army vet who recently moved to the Cedartown area with his family.
The club holds regular matches and events and more information can be found on their private Facebook group. Ask to join to take part in the club.
