Polk School District’s cancellation of classes ahead of stormy weather has one side effect: no afternoon sports.
Not that it would be possible outside since rain and wind are on the way.
The main event that was on the schedule was a home game between the Pepperell Dragons and the Cedartown Bulldogs baseball teams. They were supposed to start at 5:30 p.m.
Additionally, the Rockmart Yellow Jackets soccer teams were set to play on the road tonight at Murray County. The girls and boys will have to reschedule the games set for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Today’s stormy weather and early dismissals shouldn’t have any impact on Saturday schedules.
Cedartown is set to play Rockmart for a rematch on the eastern side of the county tomorrow afternoon, and a track and field invitational at Rome should still happen as well.
